“Its all about Jesus.” – New Covenant Believer
I got an interested response from a Finished Work preacher concerning my article, “By His Blood ~Wilderness Theology?” The emphasis of the article is that God does not put us through wildernesses or dry peoples to test us. When trials come, they are for a very different purpose than we might think.
We often here people say, that God will not give you more than you can handle. That’s a Lie. The Apostle Paul wrote unto the Corinthians that he had trials more than he could endure.
2 Corinthians 1:8-9 (NLT)
We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.
Therein we see the heart of The Father. God’s trials are not to reveal our weakness or failures, as He has full confidence in the New Creation we have become and Jesus Christ in us. Rather, the challenges we face are to reveal God’s Faithfulness, by teaching us to rely on Him rather than on our own ability. The trails of God, show his promises to be true and challenge us to Believe.
Not all of those trails are necessarily bad. Sometimes those trials can be the vision to reach a million lost souls for Christ, or feed 1000 orphans a day. Sometimes its closer to home, for a husband to love his wife like Christ loves the Church. All of these are trials, but all of them are on Christ’s shoulders, that we will manifest by God’s Grace as we trust in Him.
