God really wants his children to grow up and mature in the things of the Spirit. Yet so few understand the Grace of God and still mix in old covenant thinking with their teaching. Many believers think that Sign, Wonders and Miracles are a testimony that a person is accepted or approved by God. Instead of seeing the manifestation as a revelation of Christ and his Goodness, many think it is a reward for diligent fasting, prayer and holiness in a person’s life.
The finished work of Jesus Christ is vast. From the Garden to the ascension, each part is important in understanding the finished work and the heart of God towards Humanity. A person can have great revelation in one area, such as the whipping post, and not fully understand the others. That person, while through faith in the whipping post of Christ, may be able to perform great healing miracles, they may still stumble in their understanding of the Cross and other areas of Grace. My point is that signs and wonders are not indicators to mean the preacher is right, special or even saved (Matthew 7:23).
Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen
The Lord was performing signs to confirm the Word (Jesus), not to affirm the preacher. Without maturity many believers will seek out miracle people and hang on every word they say, thinking that everything they teach must be true. I say all of this to make the point that it is all about Jesus and our union with Him. We want people to be healed so that Jesus can get all that he deserves for the stripes on his back. But we want believers to not get prideful about signs and wonders. All manifestations of the Spirit are an expression of God’s Grace according to the Finished Work of Christ, but they are no substitute for knowing Him personally.
PRAISES THE LORD FOR THIS MIGHTY WORD ON THIS MORNING, AND YES WE UNDERSTAND THE WORKS OF CHRIST AND THE WORKS THAT THOSE WHO FELLOW HIM WILL DO AS HE DID AND MUCH MORE. AND WE UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS NOT ABOUT US AS TO THOSE WHO THE LORD FLOW THROUGH IN DOING HIS MANY SIGNS AND WONDER. EVERYTHING AS AN TRUE BELIEVER OF CHRIST WILL LINE UP ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD AND WE AS HIS SERVANT KNOW IN OUR HEARTS IT NOT ABOUT THE WORKS WE DO, BUT IT IS ALL ABOUT FIRST OUR NAME IS WRITTEN IN THE LAMB BOOKS OF LIFE!!!
IN THIS WALK WITH OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST IS ALWAYS ROOM TO GROW AND LEARN IN EACH AREA THAT THE LORD IS PULLING US INTO A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF WHERE HE HAS EACH OF US IN LIFE AT THE TIME OF WHAT HE IS TEACHING, AND WE ARE OPEN TO HIS WILL OF HOW HE IS TEACHING US!
