Ephesians 1:3 – 7 ¶Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Imagine for a moment a couple decided to adopt a Black and Decker toaster and bestow upon that toaster full legal rights and inheritance of a rightful heir to their family. It sounds crazy, but in essence, that is exactly what God did in Christ by including us in the finished work of the Cross.
Our love story does not start at the beginning. Our story goes back to when the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, were in perfect fellowship with each other. The Father loved the Son, the Son Loved the Spirit, and the Spirit loved the Father, and so on. They were the first Family, and in the fellowship was so wonderful and overflowing, they decided it was time to have kids.
Then, from that moment before time was, until the utterance of the Let there be light, They dreamed each and everyone of us up. In perfect union they decided to make Michaels, Johns, and even Dominics. They made them of different races and shapes, each according to the desires of their heart. They would day-dream about how amazing it would be if Bill loved racing cars, and if Janet’s dancing could bring tears to the eyes of all that saw her. They carved out humanity with the best of themselves, each one a unique expression of their love.
In the eternity before creation, the family of God was dreamed up and put together long before the earth began. That one day, the created would put on the uncreated and death would be swallowed up in life and we would come to know the Fellowship, Union and Love that the Trinity enjoys forever, and be partakers of that union in Christ.
With that in Mind, the greatest mystery of all, is when the Eternal Son, entered the created world and became like one of us. The Eternal became temporal, to make a way for the temporal to become eternal. It would be like taking that toaster, and making it a person. This is the greatest mystery of all. 1 Timothy 3:16
